【Phoneauto News】Recently, Phoneauto noticed that a research institution has released the latest global smartphone market data for the second quarter of 2023. According to the survey, the smartphone market is still declining, with global shipments in Q2 2023 dropping by a significant 11% compared to Q2 2022. However, according to some other institutions, the market may start to recover in the second half of this year.
Specifically regarding smartphone manufacturers, currently Samsung, Apple, Xiaomi, OPPO, and vivo are still the top five largest smartphone manufacturers in the world, with market shares of 21%, 17%, 13%, 10%, and 8% respectively. Among them, Samsung, Apple, and OPPO’s market shares remain unchanged compared to Q2 2022, but both Xiaomi and vivo have experienced a decline in market share. It is worth mentioning that in this statistics, Xiaomi’s data includes brands such as Redmi and POCO, OPPO’s data includes OnePlus, but seemingly does not include realme, and vivo’s data includes iQOO.

For example, companies such as Xiaomi, OPPO, vivo, and Transsion are planning to expand their market share in the segment below $200 (approximately RMB 1450) through stronger sales incentives and retail strategies. At the same time, these manufacturers are preparing for the future recovery of the smartphone market.
