Great Wall has over 20,000 new energy customers in Southeast Asia, across six major markets

【PhoneAuto News】On June 30th, PhoneAuto noticed that Li Ruifeng, CGO of Great Wall Motor Company Limited, stated that ASEAN is an important region for the implementation of Great Wall Motor’s intelligent new energy achievements, and the number of new energy users has exceeded 20,000. In ASEAN, Great Wall Motor has entered the markets of six countries including Thailand, Malaysia, Laos, Brunei, the Philippines, and Cambodia, starting with Thailand. In the second half of the year, we will gradually enter Vietnam, Singapore, and Indonesia.

According to official information from Great Wall Motor, on June 28th, Fan Mingzheng, Vice President of Vietnam, met with representatives of Great Wall Motor to have in-depth exchanges on investment cooperation in Vietnam. Fan Mingzheng fully recognized Great Wall Motor’s global strength and looked forward to more pragmatic cooperation between the two sides in Vietnam. At present, Great Wall Motor has not yet entered the Vietnamese market, but this seems to be realized in the second half of 2023.

According to the official data previously released by Great Wall Motor, in 2022, Great Wall Motor achieved a total operating income of 137.351 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 0.69%; a net profit attributable to shareholders of the company of 8.279 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 23.09%. At the same time, Great Wall Motor sold a total of 1,067,523 vehicles in the whole year, with sales exceeding 1 million vehicles for seven consecutive years. Accumulated sales in overseas markets reached 173,180 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 21.28%. As of the end of 2022, Great Wall Motor’s cumulative sales in overseas markets have exceeded 1 million vehicles. Among them, Southeast Asia is one of the most important overseas automotive markets for Great Wall Motor. In addition, the sales proportion of Great Wall Motor’s models priced above 200,000 yuan reached 15.27%, and the penetration rate of intelligent models reached 86.17%.
