Lenovo releases Savior Y700 tablet in morning news; NIO executive addresses charging restrictions

【Phoneauto Morning News】On July 22nd, Lenovo released a bunch of new products, including the new Android tablet Savior Y700; regarding the online rumors about NIO restricting non-NIO brand vehicle charging, NIO executives have officially responded; the Indian regulatory agency rejected the proposal of BYD collaborating with Megha Engineering Company in Hyderabad, India to establish a $1 billion electric vehicle factory; a blogger revealed that in addition to Huawei, several other mobile phone manufacturers are planning to use a similar “Dynamic Island Design”.

Currently, this product is available in three configurations: a 12GB+256GB version priced at 2399 yuan; a 12GB+512GB version priced at 2599 yuan; and a 16GB+512GB version priced at 2799 yuan.

According to official information, the new Savior Y700 gaming tablet is equipped with the new generation Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ mobile platform. This mobile platform will start appearing in products from various mobile phone manufacturers in the second half of 2022. It is built using TSMC’s 4nm process and features an octa-core design. It consists of one Cortex-X2 ultra-large core with a frequency of 3.19GHz, three A710 large cores with a frequency of 2.75GHz, and four A510 small cores with a frequency of 2.0GHz. The GPU is Adreno 730.

In terms of the screen, the new Savior Y700 gaming tablet is equipped with an 8.8-inch display with a resolution of 2560×1600 pixels and supports a maximum refresh rate of 144Hz. In terms of battery life, this product has a built-in 6550mAh battery that supports 45W supercharging. In addition, this new Lenovo product is only 7.6mm thick and weighs only 350g. The body has two USB-C ports, which can be used for charging and connecting wired headphones simultaneously.

On July 23rd, in response to the controversial online news about “NIO restricting the charging of other brand vehicles,” NIO Vice President Shen Fei made a statement on his personal Weibo account, expressing his own views.

Shen Fei stated that there is nothing wrong with NIO prioritizing the service of its own users, but there is still room for improvement in their approach. They can find more refined ways to consider the needs of non-NIO users. In the medium to long term, NIO needs to further expand its capacity to enhance its service capabilities and be able to serve more customers.

In addition, Shen Fei also mentioned the previously circulated screenshots of related WeChat Moments: “We have always hoped to have a broader vision and stronger capabilities to serve more users, help the entire industry, and have been working hard to do so. However, we do not accept anyone using our vision to bind us. The comments in the attached image are really outrageous. I also believe that they are just a few individuals speaking without thinking due to temporary excitement.”

According to the Economic Times of India, on July 22nd, two informed officials revealed that Indian regulatory authorities rejected the proposal for BYD to collaborate with Megha Engineering & Infrastructure Limited in Hyderabad, India to establish a $1 billion electric vehicle factory. The two companies promised to produce 10,000-15,000 electric vehicles annually in their investment proposal. The report stated that the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry sought opinions from other departments regarding the investment proposal.

It’s time to see who performs better.
