【PhoneAuto News】On May 15th, Canalys released the rankings of global smartphone manufacturers in key markets for the first quarter of 2023. From the overall list, Samsung ranked first with a shipment volume of 60.3 million units, while Apple ranked second with a shipment volume of 58 million units, and Chinese brand Xiaomi ranked third with a shipment volume of 30.5 million units. However, it is worth mentioning that Motorola, a mobile phone brand under Lenovo, performed remarkably well in the first quarter of this year, achieving growth against the trend in key regions such as Europe and Latin America.

The data shows that Samsung was the best-selling brand in the European mobile phone market in the first quarter, with a market share of 32%, but its growth rate decreased by 18%. Apple, ranked second, and Xiaomi, ranked third, also showed a declining trend. However, unlike the above three companies, the fourth-ranked Transsion and the fifth-ranked Lenovo showed growth against the trend. Transsion’s annual growth rate was as high as 188%, while Lenovo ranked fifth with a growth rate of 13%.

In Brazil, one of the world’s five major markets, and Latin America where it is located, Lenovo’s mobile phones rank second only to Samsung, with a market share of 31% in Brazil’s mobile phone market in the first quarter, and a year-on-year growth rate of 5%. In the entire Latin America, Lenovo’s market share in the first quarter was 21%, with a year-on-year growth rate of 7%.

Earlier, it was reported that Lenovo is about to release a new foldable screen phone, the Motorola Razr 40 Ultra, in June. It is reported that the new machine may be equipped with an ultra-large secondary screen with a size of 3.5 inches to 3.6 inches, and the size of the internal screen will be 6.7 inches, with a high refresh rate of 1080P resolution.
