Samsung to release new foldable screens, Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5, in late July

【PhoneAuto News】On June 7th, according to Bloomberg, Samsung Electronics stated that the company will release its next generation of foldable devices at the Galaxy Unpacked event in Seoul at the end of July. Although Samsung did not mention the specific product models, it is speculated that the new products may include the new Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 foldable screen smartphones.

As in the past, Samsung usually holds flagship smartphone launch events in Europe and America. When asked by the Korean News Agency why they chose to hold the launch event in Korea this time, Samsung’s Global Mobile Business Marketing Director Lee Yong-hee said, “Because Korea is very meaningful and important to Samsung.” Although Lee Yong-hee did not reveal the specific time and location of the next Galaxy Unpacked event, it is rumored that the event may be held at the COEX Center in Seoul’s Gangnam District on July 26th.

According to previous leaks, the Samsung Z Fold 5 will offer a total of five color options and will be equipped with Samsung’s customized Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 mobile platform. The new phone will also have a brand new waterdrop-shaped hinge, with an outer screen size of 6.2 inches and an inner screen size of 7.6 inches, both supporting a 120Hz refresh rate. The back of the phone will have a triple camera setup, with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and IPX8 dust and water resistance.

The other foldable screen smartphone, the Z Flip 5, will be equipped with a 6.7-inch FHD+ resolution AMOLED 120Hz inner screen and a 3.4-inch outer screen, with a rear dual camera setup of 12 million pixels, and a front-facing camera setup of 12 million pixels. The new phone may offer two configurations: 8GB+128GB and 8GB+256GB, with support for 25W fast charging.
