【Phoneauto News】On August 8, Phoneauto noticed that Samsung Electronics officially stated that during the pre-sale period from August 1, 2023, to August 7, 2023, the pre-sale volume of the two new foldable screen phones, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5, in South Korea has reached 1.02 million units, with approximately 70% of users choosing Z Flip 5 and approximately 30% choosing Z Fold 5. Currently, the total population of South Korea is approximately 50 million. That means, roughly one out of every 50 Koreans has pre-ordered Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 5 or Z Flip 5.

At the same time, Samsung Electronics stated that the pre-sale performance of Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 has set a record for pre-sale volume of foldable screen phones under the Samsung brand. As a comparison, the pre-sale volume of the previous generation Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4 was around 970,000 units, which is 50,000 units less than the pre-sale volume of the new generation foldable screen phones. In addition, the pre-sale volume of Samsung’s regular flagship phone, the S23 series, which was launched in March 2023, was 1.09 million units. Overall, there is not much difference in the pre-sale volume between Samsung’s foldable screen phones and the S series regular phones.

Currently, the domestic versions of these two Samsung foldable screens have also been released. Among them, the Z Fold 5 version with 12GB+512GB storage is priced at 12,999 yuan, and the version with 12GB+1TB storage is priced at 14,999 yuan. The Z Flip 5 version with 8GB+256GB storage is priced at 7,499 yuan, and the version with 8GB+512GB storage is priced at 8,499 yuan.
