Social App turns into an underage dating platform? Netizens reflect that the real-name system in the App is just a decoration

Social app accused of becoming underage dating platform, real-name system seen as decoration

【PhoneAuto News】On June 1st, PhoneAuto noticed that according to information from channels such as “Cai Lian She” and “Peng Pai News,” many netizens have reported that there are currently many online platforms that have not effectively implemented real-name registration and verification for underage accounts. According to information obtained from relevant journalists’ testing, many well-known social apps such as “TanTan,” “Hequ,” and “Soul” do not require real-name authentication for registration and push sexual products to teenagers. Moreover, there are junior high school students posting on these platforms seeking relationships, and the comment section has become a “matchmaking corner” for minors!

According to information on their respective official websites, “TanTan” is a social app based on big data intelligent recommendations and a new interactive mode. Based on users’ personal information, location, interests, and other information, it calculates and pushes people around you who match your preferences, helping users meet new friends with mutual feelings. The company behind the “Hequ” App, Xiamen Haibao Hequ Information Technology Co., Ltd., was established in April 2012 and operates “Hequ,” “Peipei,” and overseas businesses. It provides a one-stop social, live streaming, and entertainment service for eligible single users in China and currently covers 200 million users. “Soul” is a product designed based on interest maps and gamified gameplay, belonging to a new generation of young people’s virtual social network. Founded in 2016, Soul is committed to creating a “young people’s social metaverse,” with the ultimate vision of “making the world free of loneliness.”

Please note that the above information is all from the introduction pages of their respective apps’ official websites, and PhoneAuto is only quoting them for reference.
