The new Mercedes-Benz entry-level sedan will debut at the Munich Auto Show, possibly named the all-new EQA

【phoneauto News】 On July 25th, phoneauto noticed that Mercedes-Benz will unveil a new entry-level sedan at the Munich Motor Show in Germany on September 5th. The car is likely to be the all-new Mercedes-Benz EQA, built on the Mercedes-Benz MMA platform, which is compatible with both electric and internal combustion engine vehicles. Based on previous information, the new MMA platform focuses on compact and mid-size cars and supports various powertrain structures including fuel, hybrid, and pure electric. It is worth noting that the MMA platform also supports multiple technologies such as an 800V supercharging system, permanent magnet synchronous motor, and SiC (silicon carbide) power electronic devices.

It is reported that the all-new Mercedes-Benz EQA is still in the early testing stage and the vehicle is heavily camouflaged. However, from the outline, the overall design of the car is similar to the new Mercedes-Benz A-Class sedan. In terms of details, the car will feature a closed grille, a through-type front bumper, and a slightly sloping roofline.

According to foreign media sources, the design of the all-new Mercedes-Benz EQA focuses on aerodynamic performance and is expected to have significant improvements in the application of renewable materials and overall energy consumption compared to the current EQA pure electric SUV. In terms of power, the future models may include single-motor rear-wheel drive and dual-motor all-wheel drive, with an estimated range of about 500 kilometers for the main sales models.

According to previous reports, Mercedes-Benz may plan to abandon its “EQ” brand, which is dedicated to the development and production of electric vehicles, as early as the launch of the next-generation compact car in 2024. In this case, the all-new Mercedes-Benz EQA sedan may become the first new car in the Mercedes-Benz brand’s electric series products to adopt a new naming approach. In addition, the all-new Mercedes-Benz E-Class, EQXX concept car, and Vision One-Eleven will also debut at the Munich Motor Show.
