Ideal Car responds to entering the autonomous truck market, only applied in the field of intelligent manufacturing

Ideal Car enters autonomous truck market, limited to intelligent manufacturing

【Phoneauto News】On September 8th, it was reported by Jiemian News that Ideal Auto is planning to enter the field of autonomous trucking, possibly led by the Vice President of Intelligent Driving, Lang Xianpeng.

The report states that Ideal has already sought autonomous trucking talent in the industry through multiple headhunters, and there have been interviews conducted with employees from other autonomous driving companies at Ideal. One of the job positions is titled “Director of Autonomous Trucking Technology,” and the main responsibilities include “taking full responsibility for the system design, development, testing, and experimental verification of autonomous driving for factory logistics trucks, and delivering safe and efficient autonomous driving products.”

As for the qualifications, the candidate is required to have “over 10 years of work experience, with over 6 years of relevant research and development management and technical architecture experience, and has led the construction and optimization of core business systems for the company.” It is also preferred for the candidate to have a background in “mature port and dock autonomous driving logistics implementation.” In terms of job level, some headhunters compare it to Alibaba’s P9-P10.

It is understood that although NIO and Xiaopeng Motors in “We Xiaoli” are currently not directly involved in the autonomous trucking field, they have indirectly participated through investments. NIO Capital has invested in E-Control Intelligent Driving for unmanned driving in mining scenarios, as well as in Micromove Technology for long-haul logistics scenarios. Xinghang Capital, funded by Xiaopeng Motors as a cornerstone investor, has invested in Qiangua Technology in the same long-haul logistics scenario.

As of the time of writing, there are reports that Ideal Auto has responded, stating that they have no plans to enter the field of autonomous trucking. They have indeed been recruiting talents with backgrounds in autonomous trucking recently, but their application is in the field of intelligent manufacturing for efficient component distribution in intelligent driving logistics projects.
