Tesla announced a raise for workers at its car factory and plans to expand electric vehicle production capacity

【Phoneauto News】Recently, Phoneauto has noticed that the German metal industry union (IG Metall) has questioned the salary level of American electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla, stating that it is below the industry average. The union accuses Tesla of having salaries 20% lower than their German counterparts in the same industry. Against this backdrop, Tesla announced on Thursday that it will provide a raise to its workers at its Berlin factory.

Tesla stated that it will inform workers of the specific raise in November, emphasizing that the factory had already increased salaries by 6% last year. This raise will be adjusted based on individual performance of the workers and the company’s profitability.

Tesla’s German factory currently employs nearly 11,000 workers, and the company plans to double the battery and electric vehicle production capacity next year. This means that Tesla’s investment and production scale in Germany will continue to expand, bringing more opportunities to the local economy and job market.

In response to the accusations from the German union, a Tesla spokesperson stated that the company has always been committed to providing fair and competitive compensation for its workers. At the same time, Tesla also compensates for the salary shortfall by providing other benefits and incentives, such as a good working environment and career development opportunities.

Tesla is a company dedicated to promoting the development of electric vehicles and sustainable energy. Its electric cars, solar panels, and energy storage devices have gained widespread attention globally. The company’s vision is to “accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy,” and this decision to raise salaries will undoubtedly contribute to enhancing Tesla’s position in advancing this vision.
