【PhoneAuto News】Recently, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in the United States released the official documents for the Tesla Cybertruck, revealing more details about this highly anticipated new vehicle.
Tesla Cybertruck
According to reports from foreign media, the vehicle certification information report was submitted on November 21, 2023, only ten days away from the delivery event. The report mentions a total voltage of 816 volts for the battery pack, but does not disclose the exact battery capacity for this electric vehicle. Some foreign media speculate that the battery energy capacity of the new vehicle is 150 ampere-hours, with an available capacity of around 122.4 kilowatt-hours, which matches the unofficial value of 123 kilowatt-hours reported in some sources.

Next, the initial application for the compliance certificate was submitted by Tesla on November 11, 2023. This document confirms the presence of a heat pump in the vehicle. This is not entirely surprising, as most new Tesla vehicles have heat pumps, and previously leaked photos of the Tesla Cybertruck revealed a cooling system behind the front trunk. Tesla’s heat pump design is an effective solution to reduce heat loss and improve range. In general, heat pumps utilize the heat generated by the battery and drive unit for heating and air conditioning, saving energy and increasing range for long-distance driving – they are especially important during winter.
Tesla Cybertruck charging port lights
In addition, the foreign media also discovered an interesting detail about charging the Cybertruck. The charging port installed on the rear left mudguard will display colorful lights according to its charging status (State of Charge). For example, white indicates that the charging cable can be plugged or unplugged, orange lights indicate that the charging connector is not properly locked, and blue flashing lights indicate that the charging is proceeding normally. Lastly, the curb weight of the three-motor Cybertruck is 6,898 pounds (approximately 3,128 kg), and the weight of the all-wheel drive version is 6,669 pounds (approximately 3,025 kg). The maximum weight for both models is 9,169 pounds (approximately 4,250 kg), but the announcement does not disclose the weight of the two-wheel drive version.
