【Mobile China News】Recently, Apple added a new feature in the second Beta version of iOS 17.2, allowing the iPhone 15 Pro or iPhone 15 Pro Max to record spatial videos that can be viewed in the photo application of the upcoming Apple Vision Pro headset.
Spatial Video
After updating to the latest Beta version, users of the iPhone 15 Pro series can enable spatial video recording by going to the “Settings” application, clicking on the “Camera” section, selecting “Format,” and then toggling “Spatial Video for Apple Vision Pro.”
Apple says that for optimal results when recording spatial videos, the iPhone should be held horizontally. The videos are recorded at a frame rate of 30 frames per second, with a resolution of 1080p, and approximately occupy 130MB of storage space per minute of video.

Spatial videos captured with the iPhone 15 Pro can also be viewed on the iPhone, but they appear to be regular videos rather than spatial videos. Spatial videos have a “Spatial” label, indicating that they can be viewed in 3D on Vision Pro. By default, spatial videos on Vision Pro headsets do not display in full screen. If full-screen playback is desired, Apple warns that the video has “excessive motion” and “may cause discomfort” if viewed in full screen.
iPhone 15 Pro Series
During the iPhone 15 series launch event, Apple announced that the new device will support spatial video functionality, allowing users to capture beautiful moments in 3D. Once Apple Vision Pro is launched in early 2024 in the United States, these memories with amazing dimensional depth can be relived.
