Apple responds to iPhone 15 heating issue, iOS 1703 official version released
Apple released the official iOS 1703 version in response to the iPhone 15 heating issue
【Phoneauto News】On October 5th, Apple pushed the official version update of iOS 17.0.3 to iPhone users in the early morning. The update log states that it provides important bug fixes and security updates, and resolves the issue that may cause the iPhone to run at a higher temperature than expected. This indicates that Apple has started to address the heating issue of the iPhone 15 series.
Since its release, the heating issue of the iPhone 15 series has been a concern, and has even been ridiculed as the “Fire Dragon Fruit”. It is widely believed that this problem may be related to the 3nm process used in this series of phones, while others believe that Apple’s heat dissipation design is not good. Apple has always denied these issues. In a statement, Apple said that recent updates of third-party apps have caused system overload, leading to heating issues. These apps include Instagram, Uber, and “Asphalt 9: Legends”, and Apple is working with these app developers to solve the heating problem.
- Google Pixel 8/Pro phone officially released, starting at $699
- From January to August, China’s smartphone production was 679 million units, a year-on-year decrease of 75%
- The iPhone 16 sample production line has been built in Chengdu, and the trial production of engineering prototypes will start in December
In order to address this issue, Apple is working with the developers of these apps to find solutions. Apple has not publicly disclosed any details about the heating issue, but stated that it will not solve the problem by reducing the performance of the A17 Pro chip, and the long-term performance will not be affected.
In response to this, foreign media conducted performance tests on the iPhone 15 Pro Max. The test results show that after upgrading to iOS 17.0.1/17.0.2 system, the phone performs better, with single-core and multi-core performance scores of 2914 and 7199 respectively. After upgrading to iOS 17.0.3, although the performance slightly decreased, after running the phone for two hours, another test was conducted, and the single-core and multi-core scores obtained were 2941 and 7523 respectively.
Through various test data, it can be seen that whether it is tested immediately after the update or tested again after two hours, the performance of iPhone 15 Pro Max remains strong. However, these are only preliminary test results, more detailed testing is still needed to draw more accurate conclusions.
