Recently, an enthusiastic Mi fan discovered that some netizens were paying others to record videos of Xiaomi phones lagging, and even creating lag when there was none. The fan called it “a dirty business war” and posted it on Weibo. Unexpectedly, on November 29, Lei Jun, the founder, chairman, and CEO of Xiaomi, noticed the post. Without hesitation, Lei Jun directly mentioned Xiaomi’s brand safety.

They were offering 50 yuan per video, which would be transferred after it was reviewed. They could even “create” lag. The netizen provided an app that, when downloaded, would select the same amount of phone memory as the user’s device. Now, the fan has made this netizen’s behavior public, allowing many netizens to learn about this kind of situation. However, some netizens have expressed that this behavior “clogs the users’ mouths,” and if similar problems actually arise in the future, users will have no way to provide feedback. But Lei Jun’s response is perfect, directly mentioning Xiaomi’s brand safety. Perhaps the Xiaomi legal team can investigate this matter and put an end to it. This way, no bad people will go unpunished, and no good people will be wrongly accused.
