BYD Claims Second Place, SAIC Sells 104,000 New Energy Vehicles in October and Achieves Record-Breaking Yearly Sales

【PhoneAuto News】On the evening of November 1st, SAIC Group released the latest data on new energy vehicle sales. According to preliminary statistics, 104,000 new energy vehicles were sold in October, achieving double growth compared to the previous month and setting a new high for the year.

From the poster released by SAIC, it can be seen that SAIC-GM-Wuling (including overseas bases) sold a total of 46,000 new energy vehicles in October, accounting for nearly half of the sales. Among them, the Wuling Binge surpassed 26,000 units in sales. SAIC Passenger Vehicle (including overseas bases) sold 25,000 new energy vehicles, SAIC Volkswagen sold 16,000 new energy vehicles, SAIC-GM sold over 10,000 new energy vehicles, and Zhiji Automobile sold 4,000 units.

Not long ago, SAIC Group released its Q3 2023 report, which showed that in the third quarter of this year, SAIC Group achieved a total operating income of 196.787 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 6.92%; and a net profit attributable to shareholders of listed companies of 4.322 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 24.69%. From January to September this year, SAIC Group achieved a total operating income of 523.342 billion yuan, nearly flat compared to the same period last year, with a net profit attributable to the parent company of 11.41 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 9.82%.

Production and sales data shows that in the first three quarters of this year, SAIC sold a total of 3.3774 million vehicles, a year-on-year decrease of 10.42%. New energy vehicles and exports have become the backbone of SAIC Group. SAIC Group stated that in the first nine months, the terminal delivery volume of SAIC new energy vehicles reached 683,000 units, an increase of 18.2% compared to the same period last year. In September, the monthly sales of new energy vehicles exceeded 100,000 units. SAIC’s cumulative wholesale sales in overseas markets reached 838,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 21.8%.
