【Phoneauto News】On August 18th, Acura officially released its first electric SUV model, the ZDX. The ZDX is a collaboration between Acura’s parent company Honda and General Motors, and it will be built on GM’s Ultium electric vehicle platform.

The ZDX has a very interesting exterior design, featuring a floating roof, smooth side body panels, and an illuminated faux grille. The car is also equipped with the latest version of Acura’s “Jewel Eye” LED headlights and a pentagonal faux grille with a three-dimensional surface. The rear is adorned with a pair of sleek taillights. The ZDX offers two powertrain options: a single-motor rear-wheel drive or a dual-motor all-wheel drive. The rear-wheel drive A-Spec version can output 340 horsepower, while the all-wheel drive version may provide even more powerful performance of up to 500 horsepower and may come with a Type S badge.

Acura ZDX electric SUV
The ZDX is equipped with a 102 kWh battery pack, which can be fast-charged with a peak charging rate of 190 kW, adding 130 kilometers of range to the single-motor A-Spec version in just 10 minutes. The EPA range for the single-motor version is 325 miles (523 kilometers), while the all-wheel drive version is 315 miles (about 507 kilometers). The ZDX also has a luxurious and comfortable interior, equipped with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 15.5-inch infotainment system touchscreen. Additionally, the ZDX offers features such as wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Alexa, and a Wi-Fi hotspot.

According to reports, the Acura ZDX will be produced at General Motors’ factory in Spring Hill, Tennessee, together with the Cadillac LYRIQ SUV. This means that these two vehicles have many similarities in terms of size, performance, and price. It is reported that the ZDX will be launched in early 2024, with a starting price of about $60,000 for the standard version (approximately 436,500 RMB); while the more powerful Type S version will have a starting price of about $70,000 (approximately 509,300 RMB).
