Survey indicates strong recovery in Chinese mobile phone market, with Huawei dominating.
【Mobile China News】On November 16th, Mobile China learned that according to Counterpoint Research’s latest issue of the Smartphones 360 Weekly Report, the Chinese smartphone market is showing signs of recovery, with an average year-on-year growth of 11% in the first four weeks of October. Counterpoint pointed out that Huawei has become the most dazzling brand, capturing the majority of the overall market’s net growth during this period. Analyst Archie Zhang stated that with the launch of Huawei’s new products featuring the new Kirin chip, Huawei was the standout brand in October, and the success of its Mate 60 series allowed it to rise against the trend.
Currently, Huawei is facing inventory shortages due to demand significantly exceeding expectations, placing enormous pressure on the component supply chain and EMS suppliers. Senior manufacturing analyst Ivan Lam stated: Huawei’s ability to adapt to this series of new market norms will not only directly impact its own growth, but also determine the overall market’s development trend. This year, production issues have been a recurring topic, with both Huawei and Apple facing pressure to deliver new devices. The latter encountered some problems meeting demand for specific colors in the Pro Max model, resulting in extended wait times and price fluctuations on certain e-commerce platforms.
