Is Lenovo competing with Xiaomi for the first release at the Snapdragon Technology Summit?
【Phoneauto News】Qualcomm has previously announced that it will hold the Snapdragon Technology Summit on the 24th of this month, during which the new mobile platform Snapdragon 8 Gen3 will be officially unveiled. On October 11th, Phoneauto noticed that a blogger claimed that Lenovo will also participate in this Snapdragon Technology Summit. In fact, it is not surprising that Lenovo participates in the Snapdragon Technology Summit. On the second day of the Qualcomm Snapdragon Technology Summit held in 2021, Yang Yuanqing, Chairman and CEO of Lenovo Group, attended the event via video. He stated that Motorola’s future devices will continue to choose Snapdragon platform and will also engage in deeper cooperation in other areas.
It is reported that Motorola is now a brand under Lenovo. In 2014, Lenovo acquired Motorola’s smartphone business from Google for $2.9 billion. In 2015, Lenovo’s wholly-owned subsidiary Motorola held a press conference in Beijing, marking Motorola’s official return to the Chinese market.

The significance of the Qualcomm Snapdragon Technology Summit lies not only in the introduction of the new generation Snapdragon 8 Gen3, but also in the competition and cooperation among various brands. For consumers, they are most concerned about the release of new products, and for industry insiders, which brand can obtain the “first release” rights is equally important. The brand competition reflected in this summit is actually an exploration of future technological trends. Against the backdrop of the continuous development of mobile communication technology, major brands hope to launch new generation products first to gain a market advantage.
