Tesla recalls over 2.03 million electric vehicles! Due to issues with automatic driving assistance
Tesla Recalls 2.03 Million Electric Vehicles for Automatic Driving Assistance Malfunctions
【PhoneAuto News】Bloomberg reported that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) of the United States recently announced that Tesla will recall a total of 2,031,220 vehicles due to safety concerns related to its Autopilot feature. This is one of the largest recalls in Tesla’s history, involving a wide range of models including the 2012-2023 Model S, 2016-2023 Model X, 2017-2023 Model 3, and 2020-2023 Model Y.
Tesla stated that it will address the issue by conducting software upgrades through over-the-air (OTA) updates. The reason for this recall is that Tesla’s Autopilot feature has defects that may cause driver distraction or improper use, increasing the risk of accidents.
- Nowadays, the BBA (BMW, Benz, Audi) are dominating the market, but over 60 years ago, Mercedes-Benz almost ruled the industry alone.
- McLaren recalls 30 imported Artura vehicles domestically due to possible fuel leaks leading to fires.
- Renault issues a statement to sell approximately 5% of Nissan’s shares, worth nearly 765 million euros.
The investigation by the NHTSA revealed several issues with Tesla’s Autopilot feature, including misuse, inadequate control, and lack of sufficient driver reminders. These problems may lead to driver negligence or improper operation while using the feature, resulting in traffic accidents. It is worth noting that Tesla’s Autopilot is a semi-autonomous driving technology that allows automatic acceleration, deceleration, and steering under the driver’s supervision. However, the driver needs to remain highly alert and ready to take control of the vehicle at any time. If the driver gets distracted or operates improperly while using the feature, it can pose safety risks.
