Volvo's first electric MPV, named EM90, will debut globally on November 12th
【phoneauto News】On August 24th, phoneauto learned that Volvo’s first pure electric luxury MPV, EM90, will make its global debut on November 12th, 2023, and will simultaneously open reservations in mainland China. In terms of brand positioning, the price of Volvo EM90 is expected to exceed that of JiKe 009, estimated to be around 600,000 yuan, and it will compete with cars such as Toyota Alphard and Buick Century in the future.

Volvo officially stated, “Volvo EM90 will provide a mobile living space where you can spend pleasant time with your family, contemplate life, relax, and of course, work and create inspiration in the car. As Volvo’s first pure electric luxury MPV, EM90 is like a mobile Scandinavian living room, not only helping users reach point A to point B, but also creating a mobile living space for users to make full use of their time in the car.”

At the same time, Volvo announced its global sales in July. In the past month, a total of 54,165 new cars were sold, a year-on-year increase of 21%, achieving 11 consecutive months of year-on-year growth. From January to July, global sales reached 395,856 vehicles, an increase of 18% year-on-year. As of July, Volvo has sold 92,000 vehicles in mainland China this year, an increase of 8% year-on-year. In addition, according to publicly available data, Volvo’s sales of new energy vehicles increased by 47.1% year-on-year.
In terms of marketing channels, as of now, Volvo has a total of more than 290 dealer outlets and 37 city center stores. In terms of infrastructure construction, Volvo expects to have more than 500,000 public charging piles connected by the end of the year, covering more than 330 cities nationwide, as well as over 3,100 highway service points.
