China Telecom Unveils Next Generation of Tianyi IoT Innovation Milestones

【Mobile China News】On November 9th, at the IoT Innovation Cooperation Forum of the 2023 Digital Technology Ecology Conference, China Telecom Tianyi IoT focused on three development directions: intelligence, green, and determinism. They released the new generation of Tianyi IoT innovation achievements, covering three major innovative product categories: intelligent connection, integrated application, and 5G customized network. They also reached strategic cooperation with multiple partners such as Yunxin AI module technology and the Green Health Lighting Alliance, jointly promoting the digital transformation and upgrading of the industry.

China Telecom’s Deputy General Manager, Xia Bing, attended the conference and delivered a speech. He stated that IoT perception, connection, platform, and application have effectively promoted the intelligence, greenness, and integration of various industries, becoming one of the main driving forces for the deep integration of digital economy and physical economy. As the national team and main force in building a strong network country and digital China and maintaining cybersecurity, China Telecom has continuously deepened the IoT industry, achieving a series of breakthroughs in intelligent connection, integrated application, and 5G customized network. Faced with the rapid development of information and communication technology, China Telecom will further strengthen the core technology research and development of IoT, provide high-quality comprehensive IoT information services, accelerate the upgrade from IoT to intelligent interconnection, and build a new generation of Tianyi IoT, playing a greater role in promoting new industrialization and modern governance of urban agglomerations.

Currently, the construction of new infrastructure, represented by 5G and mobile IoT, is accelerating, and mobile IoT is experiencing explosive growth, becoming an important manifestation of the landing of advanced technologies such as big data, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence.

Wang Zhiheng, General Manager of Tianyi IoT, stated that Tianyi IoT is actively serving the new industrialization, accelerating the promotion of an intelligent IoT with a converged cloud and network, constructing a green IoT with huge potential, and developing a deterministic 5G IoT urgently needed in the industry. In terms of smart connectivity, Tianyi IoT focuses on the operational and maintenance challenges, cost-effectiveness, and network security faced by customers in the IoT connectivity business. It has launched various products such as CloudAI modules, IoT cloud storage, and VIP high-security services to facilitate the intelligent upgrade of the IoT industry. In Jiangxi, Tianyi IoT provides intelligent connectivity services based on the CloudAI module to smart water meter equipment manufacturers. Together with customers, they have developed low-cost, low-power, high-performance NB-IoT CloudAI smart water meters to help with precise operation and maintenance. In Guangdong, Tianyi IoT provides a fusion service of “IoT access + Tianyi cloud storage” to a security company, effectively solving the problem of transferring 4G IoT security monitoring data to the cloud and reducing the cost of enterprise digital transformation.

In terms of integrated applications, Tianyi IoT has introduced multiple application-level products such as IoT perception cloud platform and green public services to help industries reduce costs and increase efficiency. In Guangdong, based on the China Telecom IoT perception cloud platform, the Nanshan District of Shenzhen has standardized the construction of both existing and new systems, and established a 1:1 digital twin city using 5G, AIoT, CIM, and BIM technologies, enabling the physical and digital cities to grow together. In multiple locations nationwide, over a hundred data centers have implemented China Telecom’s IoT technology to achieve accurate collection of energy consumption and smart energy-saving for 5G base stations.

In terms of 5G customized networks, Tianyi IoT integrates 5G and optical networks to launch a new generation of dual-channel intelligent dedicated lines and broadband. Through technological innovation, it provides a highly secure dual-channel network, achieving seamless and instantaneous switching in case of fiber optic failures, and meeting the demand for uninterrupted high-quality network access. Currently, the product has been implemented by over 1,000 industry customers. With a focus on the new industrialization field, Tianyi IoT has launched 5G industrial IoT products, offering services that include device data acquisition, manufacturing execution systems (MES), and data dashboards. It aims to create a data service foundation for small and medium-sized enterprises and accelerate their digital transformation in Guangdong, Zhejiang, and other regions.

During the conference, Tianyi IoT also reached strategic partnerships with multiple industry collaborators in the fields of CloudAI module technology and green health lighting. The CloudAI module technology joint innovation body will collaborate on the innovation and application of CloudAI modules, leveraging the advantages of China Telecom’s cloud-network fusion to advance customized modules in the industry, promote the integration of communication basic functions with industry characteristics, empower industry digital transformation, and help enterprises reduce costs and increase efficiency. The green health lighting alliance aims to explore new technologies in the field of green lighting, promote the development of technical standards in the green lighting sector, increase the application and popularity of green, low-carbon, healthy, and intelligent lighting products, and drive the high-quality development of the green energy-saving industry.

This forum also invited experts from IDC China, Shenzhen Nanshan District Political and Digital Bureau, China Industrial Development Research Institute and other industry-academia-research professionals to share their insights on the development of the Internet of Things in new directions, new scenarios, and new applications.
