iPhone 15 Plus DXOMARK score released, not inferior to iPhone 15.
iPhone 15 Plus Achieves High DXOMARK Score, Proving It's on Par with iPhone 15.
【Mobile China News】On October 27th, DXOMARK officially announced the imaging, screen, and audio scores of the Apple iPhone 15 Plus. The imaging score of the iPhone 15 Plus is 145 points, which ties with the Apple iPhone 15 for 12th place on the DXOMARK global imaging rankings and ranks first in the high-end category. When using the HDR screen to browse the content captured by this device, the image contrast is vivid and the brightness performance is good. Whether it’s photo shooting or video recording, its exposure and color rendition are particularly outstanding. In portrait mode, the device can accurately estimate the depth of field and preserve details. In bright environments, the color rendering and skin tone reproduction of photos and videos are also natural and comfortable. The areas where it falls slightly behind are in zoom capabilities, which still lag behind the Pro series models, and in low-light environments where there are some missing details and more noise in photos and videos.
The iPhone 15 Plus screen received a score of 144 in the test, ranking fourth on the DXOMARK global high-end smartphone screen rankings. Under most test conditions, the screen readability of this device is very good, and compared to previous generations of iPhone digital series, the colors in photos are more vibrant. When playing videos, there is almost no frame dropping and motion blur is well optimized. However, the 60Hz screen refresh rate performs slightly weaker in terms of smoothness during scrolling and playing games, and the contrast of middle tones in HDR10 videos is lower. The overall color tone in photos and videos leans towards orange, which to some extent affects color rendering and skin tone presentation.
The audio score of the iPhone 15 Plus is 141, the same as the iPhone 15, ranking fifth on the DXOMARK global high-end smartphone audio list. In terms of playback, all attributes of the iPhone 15 Plus perform well, with excellent overall sound quality, deep and extended low frequencies, and good dynamics and spatial performance. In terms of recording, the sound quality is good, especially in scenes with loud volume, such as concerts, where the effect is remarkable. The handling of sound loss is good, although there is still some room for improvement in wind noise control, its performance is still decent. However, there is some distortion and compression when playing at maximum volume. In terms of recording, the performance of mid-range frequencies is greatly influenced by the usage scene, which may result in a tinny or nasal sound. The background noise can easily mask the human voice content, and the audio zoom performance is not good.
