Huawei reportedly applied for multiple communication patents, effectively reducing beam management time.
Huawei Allegedly Submits Numerous Communication Patents, Streamlining Beam Management Procedures
【Mobile China News】On December 13th, according to the announcement of the National Intellectual Property Office, Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. has applied for a patent titled “Communication Method and Communication Device,” with the publication number CN117221976A and the application date of August 2023.
The patent abstract shows that this application provides a communication method, which includes: receiving a first reporting condition sent by a first network device within the service range of the first network device. The first reporting condition includes the identification of the first network device and the identification of the user device. The first reporting condition is used to indicate the condition for reporting the user device’s historical information (UHI) to the first network device. Within the service range of the second network device, feedback information of the user device, the identification of the user device, and the identification of the first network device are sent to the second network device. The feedback information of the user device includes the UHI that satisfies the first reporting condition. This application’s technical solution can achieve a user device path feedback transmission mechanism across network devices.
In addition, Huawei has also applied for a patent titled “Beam Management Method and Device,” with the publication number CN117220732A and the application date of August 2023.
The patent abstract shows that this application provides a beam management method and device related to wireless communication technology. In this method, the terminal device receives the first information from the first network device, and the first information includes matrix indication information and the first weight information of each of the K second network devices. The matrix indication information indicates a matrix with dimensions of (K+1)*O or O*(K+1). The terminal device receives multiple downlink reference signals and sends the second information to the first network device. The second information is determined based on the multiple downlink reference signals, the first weight information, and the matrix. Based on the above solution, the terminal device can determine the optimal reflection weights of the K second network devices based on the downlink reference signals, the first weight information, and the matrix, and indicate them to the network device through the second information. This eliminates the need for beam management for each beam of each second network device, effectively reducing the time required for beam management.
