Lucid Gravity Officially Launches, Boasting Over 700km Range and Affordable Price Tag Below $80,000

【PhoneAuto News】Lucid officially launched its first all-electric SUV model, Lucid Gravity, on Thursday local time. This vehicle is Lucid’s second product following its flagship electric sedan, Air. It adopts the same innovative technology and design concepts and is set to begin production by the end of 2024, offering a range of over 440 miles (708 kilometers).

Lucid Gravity boasts a comfortable and luxurious interior, providing up to 7 seats or over 3171 liters of storage space with the rear seats folded. The highlight of the vehicle’s interior is a 34-inch curved screen that covers most of the dashboard area, displaying various vehicle information and settings. Above the center console, there is a small screen called the “Pilot Panel” which can be used to control the air conditioning and other functions. Lucid Gravity also features a unique function called Lucid Spaces, which can transform the interior into a serene space, allowing drivers to immerse themselves in a soothing atmosphere. This is achieved by displaying landscapes on the screen, adjusting ambient lighting, and playing environmental sounds.

In terms of power, Lucid Gravity can accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 3.5 seconds, with a payload capacity of over 1500 pounds and a towing capacity of 6000 pounds. It also has off-road capabilities, with an optional air suspension system that can automatically or manually adjust the ride height to adapt to different terrains. Lucid Gravity’s electrical system adopts the company’s latest 900-volt electrical architecture, which utilizes smaller, lighter, and more sustainable battery packs, as well as the highest power density electric motors. Lucid Gravity also supports fast charging, allowing for an increase of 200 miles (321 kilometers) of range in approximately 15 minutes.

Lucid Gravity’s starting price is below $80,000 (CNY 579,400), but specific prices and configurations have yet to be announced. Similar to the Lucid Air, Gravity is expected to offer options for different battery capacities and powertrains to meet various performance and range demands. The highest level Gravity model may reach a six-figure price tag, but it will also have a maximum range of over 440 miles (708 kilometers).
