Apple and Arm have signed a new agreement to continue using Arm technology platform
【PhoneAuto News】According to Reuters, Apple has reached an agreement with chip design company Arm that will last until 2040. This arrangement was disclosed in new documents submitted by Arm as part of its IPO plan.
The statement regarding this transaction did not disclose further details. Arm stated in the documents, “We have reached a new long-term agreement with Apple that will continue beyond 2040, continuing our long-term partnership with Apple and allowing Apple to use the Arm architecture.” Considering Apple’s reliance on Arm’s custom chip design for its most popular and profitable products such as the iPhone, Mac, iPad, and Apple Watch, as well as the upcoming Vision Pro, this indicates that Apple plans to continue using Arm’s technology platform for a long time to come.
It’s not just Apple that has a long-term interest in Arm. Arm also stated in the documents that some major tech companies, including AMD, Apple, Google, Intel, Nvidia, Samsung, and TSMC, have expressed interest in purchasing a total of $7.35 billion worth of Arm shares.

Arm’s initial public offering (IPO) took place after Nvidia’s attempt to acquire Arm from its parent company, SoftBank, failed. The deal was announced in 2020 but was canceled in 2022 due to “significant regulatory challenges” faced by the UK, EU, and US regulatory authorities.
Prior to this, insiders revealed that Arm is planning an IPO with a scale of $5 billion to $5.4 billion, and the expected price range is between $47 and $51 per share. This means that the company’s valuation is approximately between $50 billion and $54 billion. SoftBank has listed some of Arm’s largest customers as strategic investors in the chip company’s IPO, including Apple, Nvidia, Intel, Samsung Electronics, AMD, and Google.
