It is reported that BMW will start production of the new generation models at its new factory in Debrecen, Hungary in the second half of 2025. Within the following 24 months, at least 6 new generation models will be put into mass production, including a sports activity vehicle (SAV) and an all-electric sedan in the same segment as the BMW 3 Series (foreign media speculates it is likely to be the next generation all-electric iX3 and all-electric 3 Series). In addition, it is rumored that from 2026, the BMW Brilliance Shenyang Plant and the BMW Group Munich Plant will also produce the new generation models.

Based on previous information, it is known that the new technology BMW will apply in the new generation models is BMW Panoramic Vision, which serves as the core interface for human-machine interaction in the new BMW models. According to the introduction, BMW Panoramic Vision can project information onto the dark coating area at the lower edge of the windshield. The projected image has excellent clarity and color performance, allowing all passengers to see information covering the entire width of the windshield. Driving-related information can appear appropriately according to different usage scenarios, making the driving experience more convenient.

At the same time, BMW’s sixth-generation cylindrical battery cell, designed specifically for the new generation architecture models, can increase range by 30% (WLTP). Based on current market conditions, it is predicted that its cost can be reduced by as much as 50%. BMW’s goal is to reduce the manufacturing cost of electric vehicles to the same level as its most advanced internal combustion engine models.
