Ford recalls over 40,000 pickup trucks in the US due to potential axle shaft fracture
Ford recalls 40,000+ US pickup trucks for possible axle shaft fracture
【phoneauto News】On August 30th local time in the United States, phoneauto noticed that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) disclosed that Ford Motor Company announced a recall of 41,555 units of the 2023 Super Duty F250 and F350 models equipped with rear single wheels and 10.5-inch rear axles. The reason for this recall is that the left rear axle half-shaft may have been improperly heat-treated during manufacturing, posing a risk of fracture, which could cause the vehicle to lose power or tilt when parked, posing a safety hazard to the driver.
In response to this recall, Ford Motor Company stated that it will inspect the affected vehicles and, if necessary, replace the left rear axle half-shaft free of charge. At the same time, Ford Motor Company has also begun preparations for relevant notifications and is expected to notify every affected owner of the recall information by mail before October 16th. Dealers will also participate in this recall, conducting inspections and necessary replacements for previously sold vehicles to ensure that all safety hazards are eliminated.
This is another large-scale recall by Ford Motor Company in recent times. Previously, Ford Motor Company has issued multiple recalls due to vehicle safety airbag issues and other quality problems. Although Ford Motor Company has been working hard to improve its product quality and service, this recall once again reminds consumers that car manufacturers must strictly comply with relevant regulations and standards during the production process to ensure the safety and reliability of their products, safeguarding consumer rights and public safety.

For consumers, owners who receive recall notices should promptly take their vehicles to the dealers for inspection and replacement of parts. Although this recall may cause some inconvenience to vehicle owners, ensuring the safety of the vehicles is the top priority. At the same time, consumers should also pay sufficient attention to the maintenance and use of their vehicles, avoiding safety hazards caused by improper operation or insufficient maintenance.
