Japanese Media Examines Pricing of Huawei Mate60 Pro at 3000 yuan, Representing 47% of Market Share in China.
【Mobile China News】On November 14th, Mobile China noticed that “Nikkei News” published an article stating that they obtained assistance from the research company Fomalhaut Techno Solutions (Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo) to dismantle and analyze the component costs of Huawei’s high-end model “Mate 60 Pro,” which was launched in China in August. They also identified which companies the components came from and calculated the shares of each country.
Nikkei stated that according to Fomalhaut’s estimation, the total component cost of the Huawei Mate60 Pro is $422 (about 3000 yuan). From the perspective of share by country, within the discernible range, Chinese manufacturing accounts for 47%, which is the highest proportion. Compared to Huawei’s smartphone “Mate40 Pro” introduced in the autumn of 2020, where the impact of US regulation still remains slight, the ratio of Chinese manufactured components has increased by 18 percentage points.

At the same time, Nikkei also stated that in the dismantling and analysis of the Huawei Mate60 Pro, the share of Japanese companies’ components, calculated by amount, has dropped to 1%, a significant decrease compared to the 19% of the Huawei Mate40 Pro. This is particularly evident in the image sensors of the camera. On the other hand, the share of South Korean companies has reached 36%, a 5 percentage point increase compared to the model from 3 years ago.
It is worth noting that Nikkei also stated that the Huawei smartphone business is showing signs of recovery. According to IDC’s statistics, in the Chinese smartphone market from April to June 2023, Huawei’s market share was 13%, recovering by 6 percentage points compared to the same period last year. And according to other data obtained by Mobile China, in certain time periods of the fourth quarter of 2023, Huawei phones have already returned to the top spot in the Chinese market.
