Many consumers felt betrayed, and some even mentioned that this was not the first time. Looking back at last year’s Black Cat Complaints cases, Tmall also issued a large number of Apple coupons at the last minute and refused price protection. As of now, there have been over 4,000 complaints on Black Cat Complaints regarding Tmall’s Apple price refund. According to the screenshots released by Black Cat Complaints, some consumers mentioned that they found out that on November 31st at 8:00 PM during the Double 11 period, Taobao and Tmall platforms sent out Apple coupons worth 500 yuan for purchasing Apple phones. In order to compete with JD.com prices, they lowered the prices on November 11th and additionally issued 300 yuan coupons on top of the existing 500 yuan ones, totaling 800 yuan in discounts. However, when they asked about price protection, they were told it was not provided. This consumer believes that this behavior is undoubtedly deceiving consumers, and the Double 11 event did not inform specifically about the discount until later, which misleads consumers. Furthermore, due to unfair price competition, the price dropped, and no price protection was provided, which harms consumers’ rights and their right to be informed.
