Mercedes-AMG to launch entry-level GT 43, expected to be available next year.

Mercedes-AMG set to release new GT 43 model as an affordable option, slated for release in the upcoming year.

【PhoneAuto News】Mercedes-AMG launched a new design of the GT model in August this year, and now they are preparing to expand their product line by introducing a new entry-level model.

This upcoming model is positioned below the GT 55 and GT 63, and from the leaked spy shot images, it can be seen that it has a unique front bumper with a more traditional air intake. The prototype car also eliminates the vertical vents on the front fenders. The understated design of this model is also reflected in the more conservative rear bumper, which does not have the vertical vents found on high-performance models. We can also see a more low-key exhaust pipe design, with the blue prototype car having four exhaust pipes, while the white model only has a temporary dual exhaust pipe.

Although there are no interior photos of the new vehicle, the layout inside the car should remain largely unchanged. This means we can expect a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and an 11.9-inch vertically-oriented infotainment system. This model is also expected to offer rear seats, but they are only suitable for petite passengers or children.

Due to the close relationship between the GT and SL models, it is likely that we will see the GT 43 this time. The car is expected to be equipped with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine and, similar to the SL43, join the 48V mild hybrid system, with a maximum power of 375 horsepower (280 kW) and a maximum torque of 479 Nm. The vehicle is equipped with a nine-speed automatic transmission, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour (96 kilometers per hour) in 4.8 seconds.

There are reports that this entry-level AMG GT model will be launched next year. It will be introduced together with a high-performance plug-in hybrid model, which was recently previewed by the GT E Performance concept car.
