New iPhone, but foreign media mentions Huawei must face competition from Huawei
New iPhone competes with Huawei, according to foreign media
【Phoneauto News】In the early morning of September 13th, Apple officially released the iPhone 15 series products. The five highlights of the new generation iPhone release event are USB-C interface, price, satellite communication function, chip, and buttons.
Before the conference, “Nikkei Economic News” described the situation of Apple Inc.: Apple’s total market value exceeds 40 trillion yen (RMB 19.82 trillion), which is the largest in the world, equivalent to more than 60% of Japan’s GDP. However, its total market value has shrunk by about 190 billion US dollars in two days, “equivalent to the value of 1.8 Sony in two days”.
On the 12th, the Indian New Delhi TV station commented, “Competition is hovering around this world’s largest company,” and it will have to face competition from Huawei. Last week, Huawei started selling the Mate 60 series, which uses chips made in China. Huawei also hopes to gain an advantage through satellite communication and other functions. Reuters also said that Apple must deal with competition from Huawei.

In recent years, competitors have lacked the ability to make Apple’s iPhone the best-selling smartphone in China for several quarters. However, with the return of Huawei, the first batch of Mate 60 Pro phones sold out within a few hours, and the Huawei Mate X5 was sold out immediately. Huatai Securities research report believes that Huawei is expected to make a strong comeback in the mobile phone market and achieve a comprehensive return to the high-end smartphone business. This also means that Apple’s dominant advantage in the high-end market is being challenged by Huawei, and Huawei is likely to regain the users that were previously taken away by Apple in the Chinese market. The Wall Street Journal also reported on the 12th that Huawei’s new phone will put greater pressure on Apple in the high-end smartphone market in China.
At the end of August, Huawei raised its target for smartphone shipments in 2023 to 40 million units, a significant increase from the initial target of 30 million units set at the beginning of the year, with an increase of 10 million units.
Bloomberg reported that the slowdown in global smartphone demand is also a crisis faced by Apple’s new product launch. Throughout this year, the entire smartphone industry has been in panic, and Apple’s largest source of revenue, iPhone sales, has been slow, dragging down the company’s overall revenue. It is expected that Apple’s overall revenue will see its first decline since 2019.
