【Mobile China News】On October 27th, Mobile China learned from foreign media that HMD Global is preparing to launch a new brand focusing on manufacturing smartphones, tablets, and wearable devices, with a focus on the Indian consumer market. Ravi Kunwar, Vice President of HMD Global in India and the Asia-Pacific region, stated that the new HMD Global brand will debut in the first half of 2024, with India being its primary target market. It is reported that HMD Global has been launching Nokia-branded smartphones for the past six years.

According to foreign reports, HMD Global intends to launch a variety of HMD brand products, such as smartphones, tablets, feature phones, and Internet of Things devices, in order to build a comprehensive product ecosystem. The prices of these HMD brand products will vary across different markets, aiming to cater to specific consumer groups and differentiate from Nokia’s product line. The company plans to manufacture all the products of the new brand in India and export them to other places. HMD Global has already partnered with Foxconn, Dixon Technologies, and Lava to produce smartphones in India.
