Samsung S24 series officially announced to feature satellite communication capabilities! Prices to remain the same.

【Mobile China News】According to the latest report from a Korean news media, Samsung plans to sell the S24 series, the three new models, at the same price as the previous S23 series. Samsung S24 series confirm support for satellite communication! Price remains unchanged

Previously, there have been many rumors that the Samsung S24 will support satellite communication, but now leaked screenshots almost confirm this news. The new screen shots of the S24 series phones reveal a feature that Samsung may call emergency messaging, which will make its first appearance in the S24. The phone supports sending emergency messages through satellite connections, just like the latest iPhones and some Huawei phones.

Samsung S24 series confirm support for satellite communication! Price remains unchanged

The report indicates that regardless of which chip is equipped, the entire S24 series will support the new satellite emergency communication functionality. Samsung has developed 5G NTN technology, which provides two-way satellite communication. It complies with the standards defined by 3GPP (Release 17) and can be used for S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra. However, this feature may initially be limited to certain markets before gradually expanding to other countries.

According to reports, in terms of pricing, the goal of this smartphone manufacturer is to maintain last year’s prices. This is because it believes it can increase sales in the recovering market while maintaining competitiveness by offering more features at the same or lower prices as its competitors. The target for the S24 is a 10% increase in sales compared to last year, with a total shipment volume of 33 million units. The company expects sales of the S24 to reach 13.5 million units, while sales of the S24+ will reach 5.8 million units. The sales of the S24 Ultra may surpass the other two models in the series, reaching 15.9 million units.

In certain markets, the S24 and S24+ are equipped with the Exynos 2400 chip, enabling them to maintain the same price. However, it is said that the S24 Ultra is equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen3 mobile platform in all markets.
