Tesla’s new Model 3 may have removed all radar and is expected to be sold for around 200,000 yuan

Tesla's new Model 3 without radar is expected to be sold for about 200,000 yuan

【Phoneauto News】On August 21st, Phoneauto noticed that according to a foreign blogger specializing in Tesla research, the new Tesla Model 3 has ended its “trial production phase” and the pressure test will begin on August 25th. By early September, it is expected that the daily production capacity will reach around 1,200 vehicles. It is worth noting that the blogger also revealed that the new Model 3 is equipped with the HW3.5 hardware system instead of HW4.0, and “all radars have been removed”. Due to a “significant decrease” in vehicle manufacturing costs compared to the previous generation, the use of integrated casting, reduced harnesses, and more new materials, the expected price will remain around 200,000 RMB.

Tesla Model 3

Previously, there were reports from foreign media that the new Model 3’s biggest adjustment would be the adoption of the HW4.0 hardware system. The most important upgrade of this system is that the number of cameras has been increased from 9 to 12, and a 4D millimeter-wave radar has been added while the ultrasonic radar has been canceled. However, this statement contradicts the blogger’s revelation. As the release date of the new Model 3 approaches, the answer is expected to be revealed in the near future. At the same time, the blogger revealed that “the appearance of the new Model 3 is very attractive, even more beautiful than the Model S, especially the new headlights.”

Aerial footage

It is worth mentioning that recently, there have been frequent exposure of road test spy photos and information about the new Tesla Model 3 on the internet. Recently, overseas netizens exposed aerial footage showing that there are more and more covered new cars in the delivery area of Tesla’s Shanghai Super Factory. It is speculated that these new cars are most likely the new Model 3 models.

In addition, Tesla’s Fremont factory in the United States will soon begin production of the new Model 3, and test vehicles of the new Model 3 have been spotted on California roads multiple times before.
