Tested, Apple phones cannot be charged using Huawei chargers Xiaomi and OPPO chargers work normally
Apple phones cannot be charged with Huawei chargers, but Xiaomi and OPPO chargers work normally
【Phoneauto News】On September 22nd, the Apple iPhone 15 series was officially released. This year’s iPhone 15 series has many upgrades. Not only does it feature the A17 Pro chip, but it also uses the dynamic island screen across the entire lineup, and it has abandoned the “inherited” interface in favor of Type-C. With Apple phones now using Type-C, it means that they can share data cables with the majority of Android phones, allowing countless consumers to no longer need to have an extra set of data cables and chargers. However, recently, Phoneauto noticed that some bloggers have tested and found that Huawei chargers seem to be completely unusable with Apple phones.
Huawei 88W charger
On September 22nd, a digital blogger conducted tests on some USB-A chargers to see if they are compatible with the standard version of the iPhone 15. It was discovered that the Huawei 66W and 88W chargers were completely ineffective when plugged into an Apple phone, while Xiaomi and OPPO chargers had no issues and could charge Apple phones normally. The blogger sarcastically commented, “It seems like they have undergone reproductive isolation.”

Of course, the inability of Apple phones to use Huawei chargers is not necessarily a “reproductive isolation” issue. Some netizens have suggested that it may be a protocol-related problem. It appears that Huawei’s 88W and 66W chargers do not support the PD protocol, while Xiaomi and OPPO chargers do, which is why they can charge Apple phones. However, Phoneauto found on the Huawei official website that the Huawei 88W charger is actually compatible with both the PD and QC protocols.
