China Telecom Tiantong Satellite Package offers 1000 yuan per year for 5 text messages
【Phoneauto News】Recently, Phoneauto noticed that China Telecom’s TianTong satellite package has officially launched. Currently, the package is priced at 1000 RMB per year and includes 750 minutes/year of domestic calls and 5 messages/year within China. For calls outside the package, the rate is 1.6 RMB/minute for domestic calls (both incoming and outgoing), and international calls and satellite phone calls are charged according to standard rates. Domestic messages are priced at 0.4 RMB/message (receiving is free), and there is no data internet access included.
It is reported that this package uses an independent satellite mobile communication system, which is stable, reliable, and secure. The satellite coverage extends to China’s territorial waters without any blind spots in service. The package supports various terminal types, including intelligent satellite dual-mode terminals (4G + satellite). In emergency rescue, mountain exploration, maritime communication, field operations, and other situations, this package can provide very reliable communication methods. In addition, China Telecom has also launched a dedicated terminal for the TianTong satellite card, called the TianTong Terminal-YT8000, which offers 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, priced at 9800 RMB.

It is worth mentioning that adding satellite messaging or satellite calling functionality to mobile phones is one of the key research directions for mobile phone manufacturers. The Huawei Mate50 series, which will be released in the second half of 2022, supports BeiDou satellite messaging functionality. Not long ago, Huawei launched the Mate60 series. Among them, the Huawei Mate60 Pro supports satellite calling. Even without ground network coverage, the Huawei Mate60 Pro can make and receive satellite calls, edit satellite messages freely, choose multiple location information, and generate trajectory maps.
