iPhone 15 sales in all versions are not as good as iPhone 14! Max version dropped by 14%.
iPhone 15 Sales Lag Behind iPhone 14 in All Versions; Maximum Version Decreased by 14%
【Mobile China News】On October 19th, research firm Counterpoint released data showing that the new iPhone performed poorly in China, but strongly in the United States.
Comparison of sales quantity between iPhone 14 and 15 in the Chinese market in the first 17 days
Counterpoint stated that preliminary data showed that the iPhone performed poorly in China. The sales volume of the iPhone 15 series in China for the first 17 days decreased by 4.5% compared to the same period of the iPhone 14. The Pro Max version decreased by 14% compared to the same period, the Pro version decreased by 11%, the Plus version is unknown, and the standard version decreased by 8%.
Senior analyst Mengmeng Zhang said, “The overall data performance of the iPhone 15 series in China is poor, reflecting a overall decline in consumer spending. However, due to the shortened pre-holiday consumption period and mismatched supply of the Pro Max (consumers do not like the blue model), some demand may be postponed to the fourth quarter.”

Meanwhile, the preliminary data from the United States presents a stark contrast to China. The sales data of the iPhone 15 in the first 9 days showed a double-digit overall increase in sales, and the demand for the base model and Pro (especially the Pro Max) models is robust.
North American research director Jeff Fieldhack said, “The sales of the new iPhone have performed excellently for two consecutive weekends in the United States. The overall response to the iPhone 15 series is good, and we expect iPhone 11 and iPhone 12 users to be the main group of upgraders. Of course, we are talking about the sales situation in the first few weeks, but this is a positive sign that can alleviate the negative impact of Apple’s data in the Chinese market.”
Previously, the latest data from BCI, which is counted in “weeks,” showed that due to the release of the Mate60 series, Huawei’s mobile phone sales have experienced rapid growth, and Huawei’s mobile phone market share has increased from around 10% before the release of the Mate60 series to 19.4% in W40 (October 2nd to October 8th), surpassing Apple and ranking first in the domestic market.
