【Phoneauto News】Recently, Phoneauto obtained power-related information of the new BMW i5 electric sedan, including battery capacity, from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. It is reported that the pure electric range of the vehicle can reach 536 kilometers to 567 kilometers, which will give it a good competitive edge in the electric car market. Previously, there were reports that the new BMW 5 Series will be gradually launched worldwide in October this year, and the earliest production time for the domestic long-wheelbase version may be in January 2024.

According to the declaration information, the domestic BMW i5 will be equipped with a battery pack with a capacity of 79.05 kilowatt hours, and the pure electric range is between 536 kilometers and 567 kilometers. The curb weight of the vehicle is 2209 kilograms. The new car may use a rear-mounted single motor drive, with a maximum power of 250 kilowatts and a peak torque expected to reach 430 Nm. In terms of positioning and price, the NIO ET7 is undoubtedly a direct competitor to the BMW i5. The former adopts dual motor drive (with a maximum power of 480 kilowatts and a peak torque of 850 Nm), with a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 3.8 seconds, and a CLTC pure electric range of 530 kilometers to 675 kilometers.
