Just One Week Until Official Delivery! Catch Up on All the Latest Tesla Cybertruck News Here!

【PhoneAuto】As Tesla’s first pure electric pickup truck model, the Tesla Cybertruck has garnered countless attention since its debut with its unique and futuristic design. However, as possibly the most delayed model in Tesla’s history, its journey from birth to present has been filled with twists and turns.

But as they say, good things come to those who wait. According to Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s latest statement, this new Tesla vehicle will officially start deliveries on November 30th. And in the week leading up to the deliveries, PhoneAuto has compiled various reports and information about this Tesla model, giving you a comprehensive understanding of the vehicle.

According to foreign media reports, the specifications of the Tesla Cybertruck have been leaked in a car event. According to the information, the Cybertruck measures 5669mm in length, 2029mm in width (excluding side mirrors), 1791mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 3632mm. These data display its large size and sturdy design.

In terms of power, the Cybertruck comes in two versions: the dual motor and tri motor. The tri motor version is capable of accelerating from zero to sixty in 3 seconds. The weights of the vehicles are 3025kg and 3125kg respectively, with a maximum towing capacity of 4990kg and a maximum payload of 504kg. These figures display its strong power and carrying capacity. The cargo bed of the Cybertruck measures 1849mm in length, 1295mm in width, and has a volume of 0.2 cubic meters, allowing it to accommodate various items and equipment. The Cybertruck also offers a front trunk with a payload capacity of 191kg, providing additional storage space for luggage and tools.

The interior space of the Cybertruck is reportedly spacious as well. The headroom in the front measures 1057mm, while the headroom in the rear measures 991mm. The legroom in the front is 1041mm and in the rear is 1039mm. The shoulder room in the front is 1600mm and in the rear is 1575mm. The hip room in the front/rear is 1453mm, providing comfortable seating for six people. The Cybertruck’s rear seat has two 120V and one 240V outlets, allowing for charging of various devices.

In terms of range, Tesla previously revealed that the dual motor version of the Cybertruck could exceed 300 miles (approximately 483 kilometers). However, there have been leaked images showing the vehicle’s energy consumption. In the images, the vehicle’s central display shows a remaining range of 16 miles, and it is estimated that the vehicle’s battery level will drop from 71% to 65% by the time it reaches its destination. This means that for every 1% of battery usage, the vehicle can travel approximately 2.67 miles, resulting in a full battery range of 267 miles (429 kilometers), which is a slight deviation from the previous claims. However, this does not rule out the possibility of it being for the tri motor version of the vehicle.

Previously, interior images of the Cybertruck were leaked online, giving people a glimpse of some of the vehicle’s interior.

Square Steering Wheel: The Cybertruck’s steering wheel features a square design, similar to the previous Yoke steering wheel, rather than the traditional round steering wheel. This square design may better suit the Cybertruck’s futuristic style, but it has raised questions about its usability and safety.

Large Center Touchscreen: The Cybertruck has a large touchscreen on the center console that displays and controls various features and settings of the truck. From the photos, we can see that the touchscreen interface includes options for the trunk (open/close), suspension system (entry/low/high), steering wheel and rearview mirror adjustments, headlights, child lock, window lock, sentry mode, car wash mode, and more. The interface of the center touchscreen may also vary depending on the different versions and configurations of the Cybertruck.

Spacious Center Armrest Box: The Cybertruck’s center armrest box is very spacious and can accommodate a lot of items. From the photos, we can see that the lid of the center armrest box slides forward, revealing a deeper storage space. The lid of the center armrest box may also have other functions, such as a ventilated wireless charging feature.

Sporty Seats: The front seats of the Cybertruck have large side bolsters, providing better support and comfort. The seats also appear to have perforations, suggesting they may have ventilation and heating functions. The color and style of the seats may also have different options, such as white or black, smooth or textured.

Glass Roof: Like all Tesla models, the Cybertruck also has a glass roof that allows passengers to enjoy more natural light and a better view. The size and shape of the glass roof match the body lines of the Cybertruck, enhancing its aesthetic appeal and interior spaciousness. Based on Tesla’s previous practice, it should not be openable, and it is unlikely to be equipped with a sunshade.

Bulletproof Glass: The glass of the Cybertruck is said to meet bulletproof standards, meaning it can withstand high-intensity impacts and scratches. This type of glass can improve the safety and durability of the Cybertruck while reducing maintenance and replacement costs. However, whether the bulletproof glass can truly withstand various situations still needs to be tested in practice.

Considering the craftsmanship of the Model S produced at Tesla’s North American factory, it’s best not to have overly high expectations for the craftsmanship of the Cybertruck they produce.

According to previous foreign media reports, at the Tesla Cybertruck display event it attended, it witnessed the “miserable workmanship” of the car. The gaps in some seams of this display Cybertruck are indeed very obvious, especially in some seams of the body. You can almost insert your fingers between some body panels, the four fender flares are misaligned, the taillights on the tailgate are also not aligned, and in some places, there are even obvious overlaps between body panels.

Although Tesla CEO Musk has expressed concerns about the workmanship of the car, he stated that all parts of the Cybertruck must be assembled with an accuracy of less than 10 micrometers. Although the above-mentioned vehicles are only trial assembly vehicles and cannot fully represent the situation of the final mass-produced vehicles, it may also be a reminder to the first batch of Cybertruck hopefuls: do not have too high expectations for workmanship.

The delivery time of the vehicles has been determined, and it will officially start delivery at the Tesla Texas factory on November 30th local time. However, the delivery quantity has always been unclear. According to reports, Javier Verdura, Tesla’s Global Director of Product Design, revealed at an event that only 10 Cybertrucks will be delivered during the delivery event on November 30th.

It is worth mentioning that Tesla has followed a similar pattern in past events. In the 2017 Model 3 delivery event, Tesla only delivered 30 vehicles to company employees. Therefore, the first recipients of the Tesla Cybertruck are likely to be Tesla employees. The reason why the initial delivery quantity is not large is also related to its production capacity not yet meeting expectations.

Previously, Tesla also issued a notice stating that first batch Cybertruck owners are prohibited from selling the vehicle to others within one year, and selling the vehicle without Tesla’s permission will result in a fine of $500,000. However, under public pressure, Tesla deleted the relevant terms, but this move also reflects that the quantity of Cybertrucks that can be delivered in the first batch and even this year will be very limited, and this measure is specifically designed to prevent scalpers from reselling them.

The price of the vehicle may be the biggest unknown surrounding the Cybertruck right now. When Tesla initially unveiled the concept in 2019, the company stated that the base single-motor model would start at $39,900, the dual-motor at $49,900, and the tri-motor at $69,900.

At Tesla’s annual shareholders meeting in 2022, Musk previously stated that the price of the Cybertruck will increase. Musk mentioned that the pricing for the Cybertruck was determined in 2019, but since then, the world has undergone significant changes, so both the specifications and pricing will be different. Four years later, taking inflation into consideration, the starting price for the dual-motor version of the Cybertruck could be around $60,000, while the starting price for the Cybertruck Tri Motor could be around $85,000. Obviously, this is only speculation as Tesla has yet to provide any pricing information.
