Recall of Domestic Mercedes A/C-Class Vehicles Due to ESP Component Damage Caused by Faulty Parts Transportation

【PhoneAuto News】Recently, Beijing Mercedes-Benz Automobile Co., Ltd. filed a recall plan with the State Administration for Market Regulation in accordance with the “Regulations on the Management of Recalls of Defective Automotive Products” and the “Implementation Measures for the Regulations on the Management of Recalls of Defective Automotive Products”. Starting from January 12, 2024, the company will recall a total of 34 domestically produced A-Class and C-Class vehicles with production dates between June 8, 2022, and August 22, 2022.

Some vehicles within the scope of this recall have safety hazards. Due to improper transportation of components, internal components of the Electronic Stability Program (ESP) unit of the electronic control vehicle stability system may be damaged, allowing moisture to enter, affecting the functionality of the ESP system, including vehicle stability control and anti-lock braking system. This situation may increase the risk of collisions and pose a safety hazard to drivers. In order to eliminate this safety hazard, Beijing Mercedes-Benz Automobile Co., Ltd. has decided to take proactive measures. They will replace the ESP unit free of charge for vehicles within the recall range through authorized Mercedes-Benz dealerships. This measure will ensure the safety performance of the vehicles and protect the lives and properties of the drivers. Beijing Mercedes-Benz Automobile Co., Ltd. reminds owners that if they suspect that their vehicles may have similar issues, they can call the Mercedes-Benz customer service hotline for consultation. The company promises to make every effort to provide timely and effective solutions for the owners. It is understood that on October 20th this year, Mercedes-Benz (China) Automobile Sales Co., Ltd. recalled a total of 90,280 imported C-Class, E-Class, G-Class, S-Class, CLS, AMGGT, GLC SUV, GLE SUV, and GLS SUV vehicles with production dates between June 1, 2021, and September 30, 2022.
