Wondering Why Rolls-Royces are a Rare Sight on the Highway? This Senior Sales Chat Will Have You Explaining it in No Time!
【PhoneAuto News】When it comes to Rolls-Royce, besides the expensive price, many people are curious. There has been a rumor that driving a Rolls-Royce on the highway would cost the depreciation value of a Honda Accord, which is why Rolls-Royce cars are rarely seen on the highway. However, according to PhoneAuto, a senior salesperson from Rolls-Royce recently released a video discussing this topic, stating that the rumor is “not true at all,” and that there are actually many reasons behind it.
Rolls-Royce Cars
This Rolls-Royce salesperson mentioned that the first reason is actually quite simple because there might only be over 10,000 Rolls-Royce cars in the entire country, making them extremely rare. Data shows that Rolls-Royce delivered 6,021 vehicles to customers in approximately 50 countries worldwide in 2022, representing an 8% increase compared to the previous year. This is the first time in the 118-year history of the Rolls-Royce brand that sales have exceeded 6,000 units. The United States and Greater China are the top two single markets.

The salesperson further explained that the second reason is that Rolls-Royce customers generally own multiple cars, so they may not necessarily choose to drive a Rolls-Royce on the highway. More importantly, parking a Rolls-Royce at a service station easily attracts attention. He gave an example of a Rolls-Royce owner parking their car at a rest area to use the restroom, resulting in many people taking photos, even of the license plate. This way, their personal privacy becomes a subject of public interest.
The salesperson revealed that the claim that “over 80% of Rolls-Royce customers are internet celebrities” is incorrect. In fact, many of them are hidden tycoons in traditional industries who value comfort and stability rather than seeking publicity.
In conclusion, the reason we see so few Rolls-Royce cars on the highway is not because of exaggerated depreciation or their high cost, but because the owners do not want more people to know that they own a Rolls-Royce. Of course, the low number of cars in circulation is the primary reason.
