Morning News iPhone 15's Super Large Camera Revealed; BYD's Dolphin DM-i Now on Sale
【Phoneauto Morning News】Recently, a suspected promotional page image of the iPhone 15 Pro Max appeared online, revealing the imaging parameters of the device: an 85mm telephoto lens, F/2.8 aperture, and a 1/1.9-inch sensor. At the same time, well-known analyst Guo Mingchi released another analysis report, stating that Qualcomm is the main loser in Huawei’s adoption of the new Kirin chipset.
In the automotive industry, on the evening of September 6th, BYD held a press conference and officially launched the BYD Dolphin DM-i. On September 5th local time, German Chancellor Scholz cheered on German car companies at the 2023 German International Motor Show (IAA) in Munich, stating that in the face of competition from Chinese electric vehicles, German companies “should be motivated rather than intimidated.”
The suspected promotional page image for the iPhone 15 Pro Max reads: “Thanks to the ingenious design of the dual-layer transistors, even in low-light environments, the signal-to-noise ratio can be effectively improved. Our unique 1/1.9-inch 85mm f2.8 periscope structure, combined with an upright lens, forms the super powerful imaging system of the new generation iPhone. In a limited thickness, we have also reduced the aperture to 6mm, making the subject incredibly clear. Pro-level imaging, remarkable shots.”

According to Guo Mingchi’s analysis, due to Huawei’s adoption of the new Kirin processor, it is expected that in 2024, Qualcomm’s SoC shipments to Chinese smartphone brands will decrease by at least 50-60 million compared to 2023, and will continue to decline year by year. In 2022 and 2023, Huawei purchased 23-25 million and 40-42 million smartphone SoCs from Qualcomm, respectively. However, it is expected that starting from 2024, Huawei’s new models will fully adopt self-developed Kirin processors. Therefore, starting from 2024, Qualcomm will not only completely lose Huawei’s orders but also face the risk of declining shipments to non-Huawei Chinese brand customers due to competition from Huawei.
The BYD Dolphin DM-i has launched six models in two versions: 1.5L and 1.5T, with prices ranging from 166,800 yuan to 236,800 yuan. It is equipped with two sets of BYD DM-i power systems, including the 1.5L version and the 1.5T version. The pure electric range will provide two versions of 121/200km (NEDC conditions). In addition, the vehicle’s fuel consumption is 3.9L/100km, and the 0-100km/h acceleration time is 7.9 seconds.
“Competition should motivate us, rather than scare us.” German Chancellor Scholz pointed out that “over the past few decades, the German automotive industry has faced competition from Japan and South Korea. Now, electric vehicles from China will also provide innovative driving force for German car manufacturers.” He emphasized again that Germany’s international competitiveness as an automotive powerhouse is “beyond doubt.”
