【phoneauto News】On the morning of September 15th, NIO officially announced that they have reached 1800 battery swap stations! Data shows that NIO has built a total of 1805 battery swap stations and 18,193 charging piles nationwide. NIO stated that they will continue to expand the layout of battery swap stations, making recharging more convenient than refueling.

It is worth mentioning that NIO only announced the achievement of 1700 battery swap stations at the end of August this year. In other words, in just one and a half months, NIO has built nearly a hundred battery swap stations, which shows the speed of their layout. At the beginning of this year, NIO stated that their goal for this year is to add 1000 battery swap stations and have a total of over 2300. To achieve this annual goal, NIO still needs to build about 500 battery swap stations in the next three and a half months, which is quite a pressure.

The battery swap process only takes 3 minutes. The latest third-generation battery swap stations from NIO have increased the number of battery packs to 21, along with higher voltage, which brings faster charging speed. Compared to the second-generation battery swap stations with 13 battery packs, the efficiency of battery swap for vehicles has been increased by 20%. Moreover, the new generation of NIO battery swap stations has also upgraded the laser radar and chip configuration, supporting NIO’s fully automatic parking and battery swap.
