Due to seat belt safety hazards, over 300,000 Honda vehicles are being recalled.

Over 300,000 Honda Vehicles Recalled Due to Safety Concerns with Seat Belts

【PhoneAuto News】Recently, Honda submitted a recall notice to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in the United States, recalling a total of 303,770 vehicles. The recall includes the 2023-2024 Accord models produced between October 4, 2022, and October 14, 2023, as well as the 2023-2024 HR-V models produced between April 26, 2022, and October 14, 2023.

Over 300,000 Honda vehicles to be recalled due to seat belt issue

According to PhoneAuto, the reason for the recall is that the front seat belt pretensioners were not properly secured with rivets and quick connectors during assembly. The lack of rivets may result in the seat belts failing to properly restrain occupants in the event of a collision, increasing the risk of injury.

It’s worth noting that this is the latest recall conducted by Honda in the United States this year. Previously, the company announced a recall of nearly 249,000 Odyssey and Acura models due to a design production defect in the V6 engine, which could cause connecting rod bearings to wear out and seize. In addition, back in March, Honda also recalled 330,000 vehicles due to improperly bonded heating pads behind the side wing mirrors, posing a risk of detachment.

According to data from the NHTSA, Honda has issued 17 recall notices affecting nearly 3.3 million vehicles in the United States so far this year.
