The Huawei Mate 60 series may be the widest phone in the Mate series
The Huawei Mate 60 series could be the widest phone in the Mate series
【Phoneauto News】In my impression, the width of the Huawei Mate series phones is slightly wider than other flagships, giving a thicker grip. This feeling might be even stronger with the Mate60 series.
On August 29th, a digital blogger leaked that the width of the Mate60 series might reach 79mm, making it the widest phone in the Mate series full-screen era (excluding the massive Mate20X). This width might be a bit inconvenient for female users and those with smaller hands.

But actually, it’s not that exaggerated. As a comparison, the Huawei Mate40 Pro and Mate50 Pro are about 75.5mm wide, so a few millimeters increase in the Mate60 series won’t make much difference. The width of the Huawei Mate20X is an astonishing 85.4mm, wider than the later generations of Mate phones.
According to Huawei’s official announcement, the Mate60 Pro weighs about 225g, within the normal range for high-end flagships.
In terms of other specifications, the Mate60 Pro is equipped with a 6.82-inch OLED screen with a resolution of FHD+ 2720×1260 pixels, supporting a display of 1.07 billion colors and a high refresh rate. The rear camera setup includes a 50 million pixel super-periscope main camera with a maximum aperture of f/1.4, a 12 million pixel ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 48 million pixel super macro camera. It has a built-in 5000mAh battery and supports 88W wired charging and Huawei’s 50W wireless super fast charging. It runs on HarmonyOS 4 operating system and supports IP68 rating and satellite calling, among other features.
As for the processor, it is almost certain that the Mate60 series will be equipped with the Kirin 9000S. According to the leak, the latter is built with a 7nm in-house process by SMIC (Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation), offering a 37% performance improvement compared to the Kirin 9000 and supporting 5G.
