Huawei Mate 60 series welcomes epic enhancement, free satellite calls
The Huawei Mate 60 series has received significant enhancements, including free satellite calls
【Phoneauto News】On August 29th, the Huawei Mate60 Pro was officially released. The appearance of this phone not only signifies the return of the Kirin chipset, but also makes it the world’s first smartphone that supports satellite calls, which has sparked widespread discussion in the digital industry.
However, using the satellite calling function requires a high threshold. It not only requires a specified carrier, but also the activation of the corresponding service, as well as the payment of a certain fee. Therefore, this has also hindered some consumers who want to try satellite calls.

Recently, Phoneauto noticed that China Telecom has launched the “Direct Satellite Function Experience Pack” service to users, allowing them to activate satellite calling service for free using their own phone numbers. It is reported that the “Experience Pack” launched by China Telecom exempts users from the basic fee of 10 yuan per month and provides 2 minutes of outgoing/incoming call time. For users who need longer call time in their daily use, they can also choose voice packages such as 50 minutes/200 yuan, 100 minutes/300 yuan, or 200 minutes/500 yuan. It is worth mentioning that the expiration date of the experience period is December 31, 2023, which means that users who want to experience the satellite calling function need to purchase the Huawei Mate 60 Pro series phone as soon as possible for the experience.
Compared with mobile communication, satellite calls play an important role in times of disaster or in environments without communication base station coverage. However, due to limited supported devices, satellite calls are still difficult to truly popularize. With the Huawei Mate 60 Pro series phone leading the way in supporting satellite calls, more brands may follow suit in the future, and satellite calls may also explode in the smartphone industry.
