【Phoneauto News】Recently, there have been reports that Google is about to launch the Pixel 8 series, which will make its first appearance in October this year. The series includes two models, the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. As the release date approaches, more and more information about the phone is gradually emerging. On August 3rd, Phoneauto learned from foreign media that the Google Pixel 8 Pro will be equipped with a self-developed Tensor G3 chip and will also feature a larger battery, with an upgrade to fast charging.

However, the performance of the Tensor series chips is not as good as other Android flagships, such as the Tensor G2 chip used in last year’s Pixel 7 series, which is still inferior to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888. According to the leaks, the Tensor G3 chip uses a unique 9-core CPU architecture. The CPU consists of one Cortex-X3 super core with a frequency of 3.0GHz, four Cortex-A715 cores with a frequency of 2.45GHz, and four Cortex-A510 cores with a frequency of 2.15GHz. The GPU is the 10-core Mali-G710 GPU Immortalis, which also supports ray tracing technology. The Tensor G2 chip uses Samsung’s 4nm LPE process, which is an upgrade from the 5nm LPE process, so Tensor G3 should still be manufactured by Samsung.

In addition, according to foreign media sources, the Google Pixel 8 Pro will have a rear camera setup consisting of a 50-megapixel main camera and a 64-megapixel IMX787 ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 13-megapixel front-facing camera. It will run on the Android 14 operating system and offer 12GB+128GB/256GB versions. It may also have a built-in 4950mAh battery.
