In June, domestic mobile phone shipments were 22149 million units, a 209% decline year-on-year
【Phoneauto News】On August 11th, Phoneauto noticed that the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology released a report that in June 2023, the domestic market shipped 22.149 million mobile phones, a year-on-year decrease of 20.9%. Among them, 17.322 million were 5G phones, a year-on-year decrease of 24.8%, accounting for 78.2% of the total shipments during the same period. From January to June, the total shipments of mobile phones in the domestic market accumulated to 130 million units, a year-on-year decrease of 4.8%. Among them, the shipments of 5G phones were 102 million units, a year-on-year decrease of 6.4%, accounting for 78.9% of the total shipments during the same period.

In addition, according to the statistics from market research firm Canalys, the Chinese smartphone market decreased by 11% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2023, with shipments dropping to 67.6 million units, the lowest level since 2013. Among them, Apple ranked first with a 20% market share and shipments of 13.3 million units, while OPPO (including OnePlus) ranked second with shipments of 12.6 million units and a 19% market share. In addition, Vivo and Honor ranked third and fourth with shipments of 11.3 million units and 9.7 million units, respectively. Xiaomi ranked fifth with shipments of 8.5 million units.

It is worth mentioning that in addition to the domestic mobile phone market, the global mobile phone market has been performing poorly in recent years, with sales continuously declining. According to a report released by Canalys, global smartphone market shipments in the second quarter of 2023 decreased by 10% year-on-year to 258 million units. Samsung remained the top seller with 53 million units shipped, while Apple maintained second place with a 17% market share and 43 million units shipped. Xiaomi ranked third with 33.2 million units shipped. OPPO (including OnePlus) remained fourth with a 10% market share. Looking at the top five smartphone manufacturers on the list, except for Transsion, they all experienced varying degrees of decline in year-on-year growth rate.
