The estimated shipment of flexible OLED screens for mobile phones is expected to reach 491 million units in 2023, growing at a rate of over 25%
【Phoneauto News】The latest report from Magirror Research, a well-known international research institution, shows that with the release of domestic flexible AMOLED capacity and the decrease in prices, it is expected that by 2023, Chinese smartphone brands will significantly increase their procurement of domestic flexible AMOLED. The institution predicts that by 2023, the global shipment of flexible AMOLED for smartphones will reach an astonishing 491 million pieces, with a year-on-year growth of over 25%. This data undoubtedly demonstrates the huge potential and market prospects of flexible AMOLED.
The report points out that this trend will accelerate the replacement of rigid AMOLED and LCD, and promote a significant increase in the shipment of flexible AMOLED manufacturers such as BOE, Visionox, Tianma, and TCL Huaxing. Among them, BOE achieved a breakthrough of 50 million pieces in the shipment of flexible AMOLED in the first half of the year, with a year-on-year growth of nearly 80%, and the annual shipment target is as high as 120 million pieces. The achievement is not only due to BOE’s continuous efforts in the research and development of flexible AMOLED technology, but also reflects the rapid growth of market demand for flexible AMOLED.
It is well known that with advantages such as slimness, flexibility, low power consumption, high color gamut, high refresh rate, and fast response speed, flexible AMOLED is being increasingly accepted by more and more smartphone manufacturers as an important choice to meet the needs of smartphone iteration and upgrade. With more smartphone manufacturers and models adopting flexible AMOLED, it is expected that by 2023, the penetration rate of flexible AMOLED in the smartphone market will further increase, thus further driving a surge in the flexible AMOLED market against the trend.
