Weimar vehicle owners complain about problems with after-sales service, not to mention the supply of spare parts in stores

'Weimar vehicle owners complain about problems with after-sales service and the availability of spare parts in stores'

【Phoneauto News】Since Weimar Motors fell into trouble, the after-sales issues related to the brand have been plaguing a large number of Weimar car owners. Recently, it has been reported by the media that some Weimar car owners have complained that not only they cannot enjoy the vehicle warranty, but even the supply of vehicle parts cannot be guaranteed.

Weimar E5

A Weimar E5 owner named Wang Shuai (alias) said that after parking the car in front of the underground garage door, the vehicle had problems with abnormal battery cooling. After bringing the vehicle to the Weimar User Center for inspection, it was found that the compressor of the vehicle had a fault and needed to be replaced. However, Weimar stated that there are no original compressors in stock at all, and the after-sales service said they could find an external compressor, but it would cost 5,000 yuan. In the end, Wang Shuai chose a second-hand compressor for 2,000 yuan. Wang Shuai said, “Now, more than 100,000 Weimar car owners have been practically ‘abandoned’ by the manufacturer. As a car owner, we can only pray that the vehicle will not encounter major problems in the future.”

Since October 2022, the Shanghai Qingpu District Consumer Protection Committee has received nearly 90 complaints from consumers about Weimar Motors. The complaints reflect that the company’s operations are abnormal, with store closures, inability to provide car parts, stagnant after-sales service, and a lack of human customer service, which have resulted in consumers being unable to maintain their vehicles properly after purchasing Weimar cars, unable to have their cars repaired in a timely manner when faults occur, unable to fulfill signed battery replacement agreements, and unable to reach the customer service hotline due to constant busy signals, severely affecting the consumer experience.

According to the “Implementation Measures for the Management of Automobile Brand Sales” in China, even if car companies go bankrupt or cars are taken off the market, manufacturers must ensure a 10-year supply of parts for the corresponding models to address consumer issues with after-sales maintenance and repairs. Despite these regulations, the reality is that many consumers still encounter numerous cases where they are unable to access maintenance and repair services after the manufacturer’s business comes to a halt.
